Zoom on… wild garlic
We served it in 2 dishes last week and continue this fortnight… normal, it's the season!
This medicinal plant whose leaves resemble that of lily of the valley (which is toxic to it, however, be careful when picking!) And which diffuses a delicate scent of garlic, is a real treasure for the taste buds. Wild garlic contains many virtues (against bad cholesterol, it helps to lower blood pressure, has an intestinal purifying and antiseptic effect ...) and it is very rich in vitamin C and even richer (or at least more concentrated) in nutrients than its cultivated cousin, due to the fact that it grows wild.
Why garlic "bears"? The wild garlic season is the end of hibernation for bears, they are supposed to enjoy it after the winter comes out!
All parts of the plant are consumed: leaves, flower buds and flowers.
Where is it found, and when? If you know of a wet undergrowth near you, you should walk there from April to June and keep your eyes and ... nostrils wide open! Perhaps you will find there this little magical plant that grows in abundance in very humid and wooded areas ... Often near a small stream. Some even manage to grow it in their garden, as long as the conditions are right (shady and wooded area, and especially humid). Depending on the region, the times when it can be found vary, bear garlic leaves may start to sprout from the ground in mid-March. Then comes flowering, generally from April to June. We often read that picking ends at the end of flowering.
Look how beautiful he is!

We were telling you about it… it has already happened! What a magnificent Marathon of the Loire we lived last weekend. Apart from the sun, nothing was lacking… not even the rain, which refreshed the muscles of athletes!
And what pride to have welcomed so many adorable athletes. And not the least since we had the pleasure of having in pension:
- Svetlana PRETOTfemale winner
- as well as Simon & Martha MUNYUTU, husband and wife and respectively arrived 2nd man & 3rd woman.
They received our admiration!

A quick look back at our Inauguration ... 1 year is worth celebrating!
We therefore took the opportunity to inaugurate the expansion of the hotel and the jars by inviting companies & partners from the Saumur region to a retrospective evening of the 181 years of this beautiful Lady of London, thanks to the talent of the actors of the Trésor des Ducs of Anjou… I let you appreciate… That those who want more do not hesitate to click on the link of the photos.
