Public chat... The Château de Targé
After 3 opening month, we decided to introduce some novelties in our Wine List ... In addition to the Bubbles of the month that change every month 2 ;-), we have the honor to propose you Château de Targé. Edouard Pisany-Ferry gave us the great pleasure to accept to deliver some boxes to delight the palate of our connoisseur customers. For many foreigners, oenologists and epicureans, the wines of Targé and Edouard are no longer present. For others, just one tip, come and enjoy!
Since 1655, the property has remained in the family and each generation has collaborated to its influence. If the name tells you something, it is that Edgard Pisani (the father) was Minister of Agriculture under de Gaulle, a passionate look for Europe, agriculture, Africa and its development and a man remained free of his word, a bit utopian. Edouard (the son!) Graduated agricultural engineer in viticulture takes care of the domain in 1976 and will constantly evolve it ... to give it to his son very soon ... when we tell you that it is a beautiful story of family.
After years of tillage and maintenance of life on their land, it was found that they were entitled to the label awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture: High Environmental Value! And they are the first in the Saumur-Champigny appellation, which has promoted biodiversity so much! This label is based precisely on a maximum of biodiversity, treatment reduced to a minimum, and the use of natural compost instead of chemical fertilizers. It therefore goes further than Terra Vitis, of which they have been custodians for about fifteen years.
And one last proof if it was necessary of the work of quality and the pleasure which you will have while tasting these wines: The Decanter newspaper (Also known in England as the Revue des Vins in France) comes by its competition to award 3 medals in Targé: the Cuvée Ferry 2014 and Quintessence 2014 in Bronze and Fresnettes 2015 in Silver. "I'm happy, I would say: -o))" Edouard. They cumulate more 80 medals since the year 2000 ...
