Focus on ... the Anjou crémet
Available with many coulis and candies, Crémet d'Anjou can be repeated over and over again and will delight you as soon as it is presented. The opportunity is therefore found to tell you ... Our Crémet d'Anjou is a regional specialty born of chance and talent of a young cook from Les Aubiers, one evening in 1890, Marie Reneaume. The success circulated the recipe in the Angevin countryside. Its frothy and airy texture is incredible, indescribable. Curnonsky, eminent figure of French gastronomy, in fact in 1921, a brilliant praise: " Angevin crémet is a feast of the gods. No whipped cream can match this sparkling, fragrant, smooth and light little mulon ”. How about judging for yourself?
Milky Cloud Delight Crémet d'Anjou, an evocative name that well characterizes this dessert made from crème fraîche, known for a long time, it echoes the “sweetness of Anjou”. A fresh and delicate dessert, crémet is tasted in spring and summer, the two main seasons of manufacture by the dairymen.
For reasons of economy no doubt, variations of the recipe had been initiated, by adding to the cream "smooth curdled milk, a sort of cottage cheese" or egg whites that can be found in all current recipes. The most common recipe is composed of whipped cream, egg whites and a little sugar… quite simply. And it is also ours! For making cremets, the traditional utensil used is the faisselle, a mold pierced with holes, which today is garnished with gauze or muslin to facilitate demoulding.

The Grandes Tablées of Saumur Champigny August 1 and 2, 2018
10,000 people are expected on the banks of the Loire to sing it in a Gallic atmosphere. Every summer, Saumur turns into a large open-air restaurant where good humor and partying are essential. A huge table is set up in the heart of the city, around local products and Saumur-Champigny, in the company of the winegrowers of the appellation. This year again, they are more than 2km of tables which will be installed in front of the Town Hall. To accompany the meal, 4 000 bottles of Saumur-Champigny will be served at discretion at 20 tasting points located on Place de la République, in front of the Town Hall. The Saumur-Champigny served is the " Cuvée of the 100 winegrowers »Made almost for the occasion. The hundred or so winegrowers of the appellation each give 15 kilos of grapes per hectare to develop a cuvée "witness" of its vintage. As every year, four vintages, recent and older, will be served to visitors.
Guests come from afar to participate in the Grandes Tablées du Saumur Champigny. They are sometimes surprised at the happy bazaar in the queues. There are no table services and they are not reserved. Everyone is in the same boat and it is sometimes by helping each other that one night's friendships are formed. The many concerts which punctuate the evening will undoubtedly make you sing along ... for the pleasure (or not) of your neighbors at the table!
