Focus on… Claudie, our Master Sommelier… in the following presentations of "those who work for you at SQUARE".

Yes, the SQUARE is lucky to benefit from the advice of a Master Sommelier (the name does not yet exist in the feminine, unlike Sommelière!), Reflecting above all a very beautiful friendship. THANK YOU Claudie for your luminosity, your sparkle and the magic of the wine that you transmit to us so well.

Sommelier for 29 years, Master Sommelier, Best Young Sommelier of Burgundy and Franche Comté 1990, Claudie has always been driven by wine tasting. For her, it speaks of a history, a civilization, a culture, a landscape and it is transgenerational! It comes to him from his childhood memories where at each family meal a vintage would go back in time with family scenes from that year, which generated laughter and conviviality even beyond quarrels! What magic! Then this right to have red wine with the cheese, once we had made our communion! It was pride to have finally left the world of childhood! And there she said to herself: wine is divine!

How not to make it your job when you are formatted like that. She wanted to be an oenologist, she was forbidden to do so because “it's not a job for girls! »Epicurean, she chooses catering as her training. There she discovered a profession she did not even know: sommelier. She talks about it to her restaurant teacher at the end of the BEP who replies "it's not a job for girls!" ". There, it is too much! She continues her studies in a class where there is a sommelier mention and she goes all the way.

After having worked in sommellerie at Château de Gilly, then in catering in Loire et Cher, Loire Atlantique and for 16 years in Saumur, his passion for the training and transmission of good tasting to eat better is becoming stronger. For our Claudie, a sommelier is a broker of messages and emotions between the winegrower and the customer around the kitchen. And she is luminous in her initiation workshops or her wine and food pairing dinners because she creates the dishes based on the wines and she lives the Wine, from the verb Vivre ! She likes experiences such as “wine and music” evenings that she has created or training salespeople to meet the needs of wine companies… “ It is a job that if you do not do it with your heart, energy does not pass. Because wine is a living being for me and it speaks to me! She said with great emotion. His favorite phrase of great men is that of Salvador Dali  "Who knows how to taste never drinks wine again but tastes its secrets".

Great epicurean, defender of the culture of taste, don't tell her that wine is alcohol… Because there, from the height of 1.50m, she risks smoking through her ears! She will tell you wisely that "wine is made to be shared, alcohol to be burned!"

The 3th edition of the Marathon of the Loire will take place Sunday May 12 in Saumur. Each athlete will be able to participate according to his level in the different events offered: the individual marathon (42.195 km of course!), The semi (21.100 km), the combined (12 km of canoeing and 17 km of running), the ten (10 km ).

Waiting ; we train tirelessly to be on top on the starting line!
